Ray Taylor, Partner
—Ray Taylor has worked in the wireless industry for nearly twenty years. Most recently, Ray was the President and CEO of Mobopia Corporation, an early stage wireless software and services provider in Silicon Valley. Prior to his work at Mobopia, he served as Executive in Residence at Storm Ventures in Menlo Park, CA. Previously Ray was Executive Director of the Consumer Multimedia Products group at Verizon Wireless. Having responsibility for both Product Development and Product Management, Ray’s efforts delivered a series of industry firsts (first BREW-based downloadable service, GetItNow®, the first MMS service in the U.S., Mobile Web 2.0, a graphically rich WAP 2.0 portal, the first fully-integrated Mobile IM service; the first 3G services in the U.S. under the VCAST brand, RingBackTones and the introduction of Flash Mobile).
These services now account for billions of dollars in annual revenue. Ray has held both Engineering and Marketing positions within Verizon Wireless and Bell Atlantic Mobile spanning more than 16 years of service. As a founding member of AlterEgo Networks he helped launch the company in 2000 as Vice President and Wireless Evangelist.
Ray is a frequent speaker and participant within the Silicon Valley venture and technology community. Along with helping countless early stage companies, Ray currently serves as an advisor to several innovative technology companies: Sharpcast, MobileIron, Mobilians International and Mobideos.
Jane Chen, Partner
—Jane brings entrepreneurial spirit and over a decade of global business development and operating experience. Currently, Jane’s focused on further advancing wireless mobile software solutions. Prior to joining Alchemic Solutions, Jane was a founding member of Proximex Corporation, developing enterprise-level security and surveillance software. Previously, Jane held engineering management and consulting positions at NetIQ, Deloitte Consulting and Ernst and Young. Jane is a frequent participant at Stanford/MIT Venture Lab, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the growth and success of high-tech entrepreneurial ventures by connecting ideas, technology and people.
Mark Trinh, Partner
—Mark brings over 10 years of hands-on development leadership from the software industry. Mark co-founded Alchemic Solutions, a mobile technology solutions consulting company, with clients including Sprint, Verizon, Qualcomm, Samsung, ACCESS and Openwave. Mark returns to Alchemic Solutions after spinning off Mobopia, a wireless software company where he served as chief architect and led a team to create their Flash based application platform for mobile phones. Earlier Mark was a founding member at Proximex. As the chief architect at Proximex, Mark was responsible for BioWatch, an advanced enterprise-level security and surveillance software. Prior to that, he was an engineering manager at NetIQ, responsible for delivering AppManager, a mission-critical enterprise management solution. Mark has a BS, EE from UC Berkeley.
